Rumor: Dark Souls 3 is Running on Switch, From Software Considering Releasing All 3 Titles

From Software was listed as one of the Nintendo Switch “partners” back during it’s reveal, but no one really knew what that meant as they have been avoiding talking about it. Laura Kate Dale is reporting that From Software has been able to get Dark Souls 3 running on the Nintendo Switch at a performance level they are pretty happy with and they are considering releasing all three Dark Souls titles with all DLC at the same time they release a full DLC version at retail for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

No final decisions have been made and Dark Souls 3 was being ported by a very small team. That being said, they are taking a wait and see approach with the decision as they contemplate the financial viability of doing this and want to see how other titles perform on the Switch.

Taking Dark Souls 1, 2, and 3 on the go is certainly a tantalizing prospect and the fact it can run Dark Souls 3 at a performance level they are pleased with (if this is all true) certainly bodes well for the Nintendo Switch’s viability at getting third party multiplatform games moving forward. Power may not be a concerning issue.
