Nintendo Switch vs. PlayStation 4 Sales in Japan Tell an Interesting Story

We know the Nintendo Switch has been an unmitigated success in North America according to the NPD reports, but what about in Nintendo’s home country of Japan? Well, we have a nifty week by week breakdown that directly compares the sales of Sony’s PlayStation 4, the current market leader for home consoles, with the Nintendo Switch. Here is the rundown so far:

As you can see, the sales for the system are holding steady without a single week dipping under 40,000 units. If Nintendo can maintain that sort of sales momentum that will only skyrocket with every big release, the Switch could do something truly special in Japan.
