Mario & Friends Put on Dance Number in Jump Up, Super Star! – Super Mario Odyssey Musical

I’ve seen thousands of game trailers and commercials in my time as a gamer, including hundreds of Mario related ones. I think Nintendo has finally released one that tops them all, at least for the Mario franchise. In their latest commercial/trailer, Mario gets on the streets of a real life New Donk City, putting on a huge dance number with town residents and what appears to be a professional dance group. All while Pauline herself sings the theme song from Super Mario Odyssey.

Nintendo calls it a musical, which is fairly appropriate given they are using real life people here versus an animated bit that’s just a commercial. It’s very entertaining and I have to admit, the fact I love musicals probably plays a little bias into my enjoyment of it. Watch it and let us know what you think down in the comments!

  • It’s a great trailer, and this is the first time I’ve seen the use of motion controls for throwing the hat in the game, which gets me that much more excited to play it.
