Here’s a Close Look at the Nintendo Switch HORIPAD Pro Style Wired Controller

Looking for a cheaper alternative to the $70 pro controller for Nintendo Switch? HORI has you covered with the HORIPAD for Nintendo Switch, which includes an interchangeable D-Pad. You are not getting NFC support or Motion with this controller (I would assume not HD rumble either), but for folks who just want a cheaper, standard controller for their games, this certainly fits the bill. Here’s a video look:

Oh, did I mention it has a turbo button? Pretty cool. You can grab this bad boy for $29.99 here. It releases on July 31st.

I always like corded controllers more. Makes sense why they’d remove the motion aspect (so you wouldn’t get tangled in the cord), though the loss of rumble and NFC seems strange.

    • Proprietary stuff. They are officially licensed, but HD rumble, NFC, motion – all parts that have to come directly from Nintendo. In addition, it would increase the cost of the controller for aspects that many people aren’t going to need.
