60% of Nintendo’s American Revenue Happens During the Holidays

Reggie Fils-Aime was talking to Yahoo Finance about the holiday period of sales for Nintendo from a business perspective and revealed exactly why this sales period is so important to Nintendo.

“The holiday selling season – October, November and December – critically important to our company. We typically do, in the Americas, about 60% of our revenue during that time frame. The reason that it’s so significant is first, our products make great gifts. Whether you’re talking about Nintendo Switch, whether you’re talking about Nintendo 2DS, we really do well with that gift- giving occasion.” — Reggie Fils-Aime

That’s a lot of pressure on a single 3 month period (which makes up the entirety of Nintendo’s own financial 3rd quarter)...

Eiji Aonuma Teases Skyward Sword for Nintendo Switch

Skyward Sword HD may be a reality on Nintendo Switch if Eiji Aonuma’s recent tease comes to fruition. There is an ongoing Zelda concert series between Japan and China right now similar to the Symphony of the Goddesses concert series we got in the west and Eiji Aonuma appeared at the most recent one after some Skyward Sword music was played to say the following:

New Zelda Game is Coming “Sooner Than Expected”

Game Informer’s Imran Khan gave the following quote during their most recent podcast when a discussion broke out about the next Zelda game:

“I was just thinking what I should say about that. The next Zelda will probably be sooner than we think…I will talk to you guys off camera about stuff.” And when asked if it is a game by the Triforce Heroes team and involves co-op, he responds, “Um, not exactly.”

It’s obvious he really wants to say more about what he’s heard, but for now things are going to be kept mostly behind closed doors likely until Nintendo is ready to talk about it.

Eiji Aonuma Says Breath of the Wild Will Never Be Placed in the Timeline

The Legend of Zelda series producer and one of the major creative minds behind the most commercially successful Zelda game of all time, Breath of the Wild, has come out to give a long winded explanation for why he, nor anyone else on the Zelda team, will ever reveal (or potentially attempt) to give an exact placement for Breath of the Wild on the official timeline:

“The final thing I’d like to convey to all of our players is that video games, not just Zelda, can go much, much farther! We got a lot of responses from adult players who said they felt the same way playing this game as they did when they used to be hooked on video games when they were younger.”

We made this game with the intention of returning to our roots, so the response from players about feeling the same as they ha...

Pokemon Let’s Go is the Fastest Selling Switch Game Ever

The Pokemon Company and Nintendo have confirmed that Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu and Eevee have sold 3 million combined units world wide during it’s 3 day launch last week, making it the fastest selling and best launch for any Nintendo Switch game in the short history of the platform.

The prior records were neck and neck between Breath of the Wild and Super Mario Odyssey for launch numbers, but Pokemon soared past those two without much trouble.

Given that Breath of the Wild and Super Mario Odyssey have both sold north of 10 million units on Nintendo Switch, it’s a pretty safe bet that Let’s Go will be joining that and surpassing those numbers sometime over the next year.
