Apparently the Mario x Rabbids RPG, Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle, is Real

Before we even knew 100% certain what the Switch was, rumors were swirling around potential games for the system. Once unveiled, the rumors only grew stronger. One rumor dealt with a Mario x Rabbids RPG, as originally reported by Laura Kate Dale and French website GameBlog. Kotaku has now apparently been able to confirm beyond a reasonable doubt that the game is completely real, it’s called Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle, and it will be releasing in August or September on Switch.

While the person who leaked the information did ask for the art submitted for the game to not be shared, Kotaku was able to reveal a few details ascertained from the source. It’s being developed using the Ubisoft exclusive Snowdrop engine and will feature turn-based combat, local two-player co-op, and will have a goofy sense of humor. The playable characters will be Mario, Luigi, Yoshi, Peach, and four Rabbids dressed up as Mario, Luigi, Yoshi, and Peach. Yeah, only the Rabbids could really get away with that.

I’d expect to see this title revealed at E3 next month.
