Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Update 1.2 Features a Slew of Improvements

Nintendo has updated Mario Kart 8 Deluxe to version 1.2 and has added some features and fix some minor bugs to the game.

Version 1.2

  • Players can use Pikmin-themed amiibo to unlock a Pikmin Suit for the Mii driver.
  • Race rules and course name are now displayed on loading screens for online and wireless play, as well as Mario Kart TV.
  • Players who are behind in online matches will receive items geared toward catching up more frequently.
  • In online matches, no more than two Piranha Plants will be granted as items at the same time.
  • Controls are no longer unresponsive when the timer runs out when choosing a Mii racing suit for online matches.
  • When a player uses an item right after the Super Horn in online matches, that item will now remain available for other players.

Nintendo Wins Big at Game Critics E3 2017 Awards

Nintendo keeps on dominating the Gamer Critics Awards at E3. Last year, they won Best of Show with Breath of the Wild. This year, they won Best of Show with Super Mario Odyssey. Here are all the winners for Nintendo.

Huge Memory Difference for Breath of the Wild: The Master Trials DLC

Breath of the Wild’s first DLC pack, The Master Trials, comes out tomorrow. This game was released for both the Switch and the Wii U, but there is going to be a difference in memory size when this DLC is available. The Switch version will be 456MB and the Wii U version will be 3.76GB.

If you’re playing this on the Wii U, make sure you have enough memory to be ready to play this on Friday. There has been no comment yet as to why there is such a large size difference between versions.

Splatoon 2 Has a New Mode Focusing on Team Battles

In an interview with Glixel, Shintaro Sato, programming director for Splatoon 2 reveals that

There’s also a new mode in Splatoon 2 called League Battle. This will be a mode that players can play either in groups of two or four, and it will present you with a two-hour period in which your group competes with other groups to see how many points you can earn. Because the results of that League Battle play will be displayed in a ranking at the end of every two-hour period, we can give players goals to strive for, and hope to encourage them to keep competing and pushing.

There is also the option to connect 8 Switches via LAN Play. Another mode will be a spectator mode where someone will be able to record the match and potentially put it up online...

Hasbro Creates Monopoly Gamer Based on Nintendo, Buy Today

Hasbro has announced a new Monopoly game based on Nintendo properties called Monopoly Gamer. Hasbro said in the press release that:

The MONOPOLY GAMER Edition game will feel familiar yet fresh to both MONOPOLY and Nintendo fans, as players race around the board to complete levels (buy property), collect coins (money)—either from the bank or by using special powers to take them from other players—and battle legendary bosses to rack up points and win the game. Players can choose from fan-favorite Super Mario character tokens, such as Mario, Donkey Kong, Princess Peach and Yoshi.

Snake Pass is on Sale on Switch, Tease of Future DLC

Kirby Blowout Blast is Releasing on July 6th

The newest game in the Kirby franchise, Kirby Blowout Blast, has been announced to be released on July 6th, 2017.  This game will only be sold on the Nintendo 3DS Eshop. This game is part of Kirby’s 25th anniversary celebration. Nintendo has released a new trailer for Japan.

Rocket League on Switch to Have Pricing Parity, Run at 720p & 60FPS

Rocket League was announced at E3 for the Nintendo Switch. Devin Connors, Community Manager for Psyonix has announced  on Reddit, that this game is going to cost $19.99. This is the same price that it sells for on the Playstation 4 and the Xbox One.

In an interview with VentureBeat, Psyonix publishing boss, Jeremy Dunham said that:

The team is targeting 720p and 60 frames per second both on TV and the system’s dedicated screen…This game also required Psyonix to do custom work on this version of the game. Nintendo Switch runs on the Unreal 4 engine and this game was created on the Unreal 3 engine…Rocket League will also support two-player splitscreen in all modes. It can also do four-player splitscreen when docked and connected to a TV...

Star Fox 2 Developers Celebrate the Games Release

Star Fox 2 has been a game that has never been released until now. It will be released with the SNES Classic and everyone is ecstatic about its release. This also includes the developers who will finally get to see people play their game. They went out drinking to celebrate this occasion. In an email sent to Kotaku, Dylan Cuthbert, programmer of Star Fox 2, says:
