When they released the 2.0 version of Final Fantasy XV‘s demo Episode Duscae, the good folks at Square Enix tried their very best to prevent players.
Users used various methods in 1.0 to explore the demo and discover all sorts of cool things, like Titan. Turns out that you can’t hold back curious fans, and while passing the borders is much harder now, it’s still possible, and Nico Nico user ApaNeL used another exploit to make a very cool discovery.
Presently a rioting noise was heard without. Starting up, the landlord cried, “That’s the Grampus’s crew. I seed her reported in the offing this morning; a three years’ voyage, and a full ship. Hurrah, boys; now we’ll have the latest news from the Feegees.

Spec Ops: The Line developer Yager is no longer working on zombie game Dead Island 2 after the company’s vision for the title “fell out of alignment” with publisher Deep Silver’s.
“Having a project cancelled in such a late state is a catastrophic event on so many different levels,” Ullmann told Games Industry International. “It really is the worst possible outcome. Everybody involved loses.”
As a result of Yager’s removal from Dead Island 2, the company shut down Yager Productions, which was a “single-purpose” division of the company created specifically to work on the game. Many jobs were lost, but the impact on personnel was lightened somewhat by Germany’s provision of guaranteeing three months’ pay. Other people left on their own accord to start new companies.

Blighted by the night, vanquishing the plight by the children of the light. No video game character conveys endearment and sadism in a single expression as well as the Blue Slimes.
In Dragon Quest Heroes: The World’s Tree Woe and the Blight Below, these iconic teardrop-shaped blobs have never looked more adorable and homicidal, which is what makes killing them en masse one of this game’s greatest pleasures. It’s one of many delights aptly delivered by a collaboration that is one part Dynasty Warriors, one part Dragon Quest. As a hack-and-slasher with countless enemy encounters, character growth, and a shopping list of quests, it was joy to be reminded how much both series have in common.
As a contrast to all the dimension hopping that made up much of last year’s Hyrule Warriors (a Dy...Read More
Horizon Hero Dawn came as a surprise to many after it was unveiled earlier this year at E3. Starring a female hero, the game seems to feature a clashing theme of low and high-tech equipment and enemies.
Guerilla Games is developing, but Sony seems to have more plans for this series than just one game next year.
Evidently, “licensed merchandise” will be available as well, since “players simply won’t want to leave [the world].” Said merchandise involves clothing, toys, accessories, and stationary (Lisa Frank style, hopefully) — all set to launch in the fourth quarter of 2016.
“I liked it… they… ummm… they fired… ummm… [lets out a massive sigh] I left, I quit! [laughs] So, I didn’t like it. I mean, I left because they decided to go a different way with it and so when they did that, when they...
Uncharted 4 lost its writer and then its director in early 2014 amid allegations that writer Amy Hennig was “forced out” by The Last of Us’ Neil Druckmann and Bruce Starlet.
A year later, the game was delayed from its marquee fall 2015 spot and into 2016, giving Sony another weak holiday lineup on the exclusive front (compared to Halo 5: Guardians and Rise of the Tomb Raider for Microsoft).
Alan Tudyk (Star Wars: Rogue One, Firefly) was going to voice a character in Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End. He recently spoke to IGN about why he left the role (or was let go).
“I worked on Uncharted, the one that has yet to come out – I was doing a role on that. Really, I hadn’t seen [Nathan Drake voice actor Nolan North] since he and I had recorded years before,” he said.

Supermassive Games, the developer of Until Dawn, doesn’t have any downloadable content in the works for the PS4-exclusive horror game, but is working on its next game.
The subject was brought up in a Reddit AMA with Supermassive executive creative director Will Byles and design director Tom Heaton. Specifically, they were asked about the possibility of DLC involving a specific scenario that isn’t possible in the game, and which has spawned possibilities for new scenarios online. (Spoiler warning: The question on Reddit references story details, but this post is spoiler-free).
“We’ve seen them too and they’re great,” Supermassive said about these fan-created ideas . “But we are not currently working on any DLC for Until Dawn at the moment.“
Saying “at the moment” leaves open the possibi...Read More
The second Street Fighter V beta is scheduled to start this weekend, and if you happen to be a part of the PC festivities, you can pre-load it now.
Just redeem your code, head to Steam, and download the latest build, which clocks in at 1.9GB. Although the beta doesn’t unlock Karin until late tomorrow night (5PM PT), you’re in for a treat. I had a chance to check out the latest version of Street Fighter V at TGS, and it was pretty great, and a major step-up from IV.
This terrific object seemed to recall the whole herd from their stationary fright. First, the whales forming the margin of our lake began to crowd a little, and tumble against each other, as if lifted by half spent billows from afar; then the lake itself began faintly to heave and swell; the submarine bridal-chambers and nur...Read More

Stick it to the Man! and Zombie Vikings developer Zoink! is already working on a new game simply called FE, and you can play it right now if you own Zombie Vikings.
The above video shows how to access the hidden FE level via an Easter egg involving luring an enemy to a specific area. The FE level can then be selected from the overworld map at any time.
FE is a large departure from the style Zoink! has used so far, as it looks to be a mixture of 3D platformer mixed with stealth gameplay. I’m guessing the thing you control is a flying lizard or squirrel. Looks pretty cool either way, though I think the developer should have finished Zombie Vikings before it started on another game, but what do I know, I just write about games.
