Virtuos Convinced Obsidian to Bring The Outer Worlds to Switch

The Outer Worlds recently released on PS4 and Xbox One, but it was announced earlier this year that it would also be coming to Nintendo Switch sometime in 2020. Virtuous is the team porting the game, who previously also ported LA Noire, Starlink: Battle for Atlas, and Dark Souls Remastered to Switch.

Co-Director of The Outer Worlds, Leonard Boyarsky, recently said in an interview the following about the game coming to Nintendo Switch:

We weren’t sure it could be done. But then they [Virtuos] started coming out with all these games on Nintendo Switch, and we thought, ‘Wow, that’s great.’ And then we saw the proof of concept from the external team who was doing it and we were very, very surprised.

As more and more games like The Outer Worlds, Mortal Kombat 11, Civilization 6, Doom Eternal, and The Witcher 3 come to Switch, the excuses to not put a game on Switch, at least for the next 2 years, seem to be melting away.
